The Speaker of the Kosovo Parliament, Albulena Haxhiu, has claimed that her previous stance on the protests in Albania has been misinterpreted by the media in Kosovo.

Regarding her sentence where she mentioned arrogance as a motivating factor in violence, she emphasized that she did not refer to any specific institution or political figure in Albania, but spoke about the universal approach that governments should have towards citizen dissatisfaction.

"I see that some media outlets have distorted my response to the protests in Albania," Haxhiu declared in a post on her Facebook account. "When I said that arrogance only fuels protests, I was talking about how we should approach protests in general, with seriousness and a willingness to listen."

She has also rejected claims about the organized participation of Vetëvendosje supporters in the protests in Tirana.

"Regarding participation, I want to emphasize that there has never been a call from the Vetëvendosje Movement to support the protests. The Vetëvendosje Movement cannot be held responsible if its supporters go and protest in Tirana."
