Dom Mikel Pllumaj, has commented on the developments of the last few days in the country. Speaking about the protests and clashes between the parties, the parish priest of Shkodra said that Albanians should not kill each other, while appealing to the parties to give in to each other's demands.

"Try to imagine what has happened in the last four or five days. It's not good." 

Neither for one side, nor for the other side, neither for the youth, nor for the police, sons of the same country, who shed each other's blood, who want to gouge each other's eyes out. Why does a person end up in this state? 

It seems that we Albanians have no soul for each other. Even those sons who have run this country for so many years are our sons, of the same country. No one else has brought us our blood. 

How important it is, dear brothers and sisters, to be formed, well-formed in mind and heart. How important it is to allow the culture of Christ's love to touch the soul of the Albanian."

The statements of the Catholic parish priest of Shkodra were made during the celebrations of the vigil of the feast of Our Lady of Shkodra, patroness of the city. In honor of this feast, a series of activities are held that culminate with a fireworks spectacle.
