Scandalous VIDEO in Tirana: Animal remains and bones thrown on the sidewalk

Scandalous images from Tirana have reached the Boldnews editorial office, where animal remains, skins and bones are seen thrown on the sidewalk in the Astir area.

As seen in the video below, organic waste appears to be scattered in a public space, near areas frequented by citizens and vehicles.

This scandal comes just a few days after the approval of IBAR, the document that paves the way for Albania towards European integration.

But such views call into question the government's seriousness in meeting EU standards in waste management and urban hygiene.

The European Commission has emphasized that Chapter 27 on environment and climate is one of the most sensitive conditions of the negotiations, while cases like this expose the lack of capacity to guarantee minimum standards.

At a time when Tirana must demonstrate that it is ready to be part of the European family, the images of Astir show a bitter reality: citizens live among garbage, while institutions remain silent.

These images are not simply an aesthetic problem, but a serious alarm for public health and for the image of Albania. The National Food Authority (AKU) has a legal obligation to control and intervene when organic waste endangers the hygiene of citizens, but officials of this institution seem not to be concerned about this aspect and are content with some routine checks that they use for their propaganda on social networks.

But this scandal is not only a failure of the AKU, but also of the Environmental Inspectorate, which should monitor public spaces and intervene when pollution endangers the health of citizens. This institution should guarantee the implementation of the law on environmental protection, but it seems incapable of preventing such situations.

At the same time, this scandal exposes the stark contrast between the reality on the ground and the image the government tries to project abroad.

Prime Minister Rama often attracts attention with jokes and servile gestures at international meetings, but meanwhile the situation within the country remains alarming: citizens live among garbage, animal waste, and a lack of institutional control.
