The company "MABCO Constructions SA" owned by the Albanian billionaire from Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, guarantees that it will resume work with all its capacities to complete the Vlora Airport as soon as possible, after the Supreme Court ruled in its favor in the confrontation with the other shareholder.

Ornela Çuçi, from Mabco, stated that the airport's current situation is a result of court decisions in the country, describing them as "paradoxical".

"Finally, normalcy returned to the airport. What was expected to happen and should have happened from the very beginning. We should never have come to this point, the whole fight is happening for a 47 percent stake. There was no reason for a practical expropriation of the owner. The reason why we came to this point was the paradox of the decisions of the Albanian courts. The Supreme Court brought it to complete normality," she said.

Asked when the works on this airport will be completed and when it will be inaugurated, Çuçi did not give any specific date, but emphasized that "Mabco" will work to open this airport as soon as possible.

"I can't say. Today it has become clear to some extent, but the decision has not been fully clarified and, once Mabco is given the opportunity to enter the airport, we will see later. But one thing is certain, there are about 200 workers on the site currently and all the problems that occurred during this time, despite the fact that the works at the airport were carried out while there was no energy, no water, no opportunity to work, Mabco has overcome everything to make it possible," she said.

Further, the representative of Behgjet Pacolli's company emphasized that the airport will not be seasonal, but will operate throughout the 12 months of the year. She also stated that this airport will have a direct Vlora-New York line, due to the works carried out by Mabco.

"There has been an intervention by the Mabco company in the airport project, adding an additional floor, adding a part of the airport in such a way that the first flight that will have to take place from the airport is the one with New York. Vlora-New York," she said.
