30-year-old  Roberto Lapa , wanted as part of the police operation "Strike2", has been arrested in Gjirokastra, after he is suspected of having participated in the kidnapping and rape of a 20-year-old man on the evening of May 20 in Vlora. 

According to the police announcement, the 30-year-old was caught while driving a vehicle, during a road operation on the "Tepelena-Gjirokastra" route, while his two accomplices were arrested earlier. 

The arrested Roberto Lapa, together with his brother  Leandro Lapa  and another citizen  Brajan Habazaj, forcibly took the 20-year-old to take 6 thousand euros. 

Police Announcement:

Wanted as part of Operation "Strike 2", for a case of illegal deprivation of liberty and rape, the 30-year-old was captured in Gjirokastra.

The detainee and his 2 accomplices forcibly abducted a 20-year-old man in Vlora on 21.05.2026, to obtain 6,000 euros.

As a result of the coordination of information and actions between the investigative and operational structures of the Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate and the structures of the Vlora Local Police Directorate, the citizen declared wanted on behalf of the Vlora Local Police Directorate, within the framework of the coded operation "Strike 2", RL, 30 years old, resident of the village of Risili, Vlora, was detained, in cooperation with the services of the "Eagle" Force of the Gjirokastra Local Police Directorate.

The 30-year-old was caught while driving a vehicle on the "Tepelena-Gjirokastër" road axis.

He is accused of having forcibly taken a 20-year-old man into a vehicle on 21.05.2026, in collaboration with citizens BH and LK alias LL (previously arrested), whom they took to a secluded area, where they raped him, in order to extort 6,000 euros.

Citizen RL was handed over to the services of the Vlora DVP for further action.
