The British media Dailymail has devoted an article to the emigration of Albanians to Great Britain.
According to this media, only yesterday, about 700 Albanians crossed the English Channel and arrived in Great Britain.
ARTICLE:
More than 700 Albanians arrived in Britain in small boats in just one day as part of a record wave of arrivals through the English Channel. Official figures showed 1,295 migrants arrived in Britain on Monday, breaking the previous daily high of more than 100.
About 60 percent of the total - at least 700 - were from Albania, a NATO ally that aspires to join the European Union and has not seen any conflict in more than 25 years.
Last week the Mail revealed that the number of Albanians arriving through the Channel is increasing 'exponentially'. UK authorities intercepted 27 boats in the Channel and brought them to British shores on Monday alone, Ministry of Defense data showed.
The highest daily number of ships since the army took command of Channel operations in April was just 15. It brings the total number of migrants who have crossed from northern France since the start of the year to 22,567.
The data does not include an unconfirmed number of migrants who arrived yesterday, thought to be 170.
To combat the issue, Conservative leader Liz Truss has said she will introduce a policy to remove migrants to Rwanda as soon as possible if she is appointed as the next prime minister. She insists the military will remain 'absolutely' involved in Canal operations.
Truss has also pledged to pursue Rwanda-style deals with other countries, expanding the Border Force's frontline operations by a fifth, appointing a dedicated border minister and reforming human rights laws to stop their abuse in immigration cases.
Her rival Rishi Sunak has presented a ten-point plan to curb illegal immigration.
Officials have told the Mail that Albanian criminals are sending people with no criminal records to the UK in small boats to join organized gangs. The Conservative MP for Dover last night said the situation 'cannot go on like this'.
Natalie Elphicke said: "Crossings across the Channel cannot be allowed to continue like this."
Alp Mehmet, head of immigration watch UK, which campaigns for tougher border controls, called for urgent action from ministers.
Mt Mehmeti said: 'This typifies the abject incompetence and failure of a government that has floundered for years while the problem has worsened.' This month now looks set to become the busiest for Channel crossings since the crisis began in 2018.
A government spokesman said:
'The increase in dangerous Channel crossings is unacceptable. Not only are they a blatant abuse of our immigration laws, but they endanger the lives of vulnerable people who are being exploited by ruthless criminal gangs.
