The head of SPAK, Altin Dumani, has declared that he will continue to be a prosecutor even after the end of his 9-year mandate.

Altin Dumani was asked by Democratic MP Jorida Tabaku whether his statement that he will not run again as SPAK prosecutor indicates surrender in the face of pressure.

"I do not give up, I am not a person who gives up. I face challenges. One thing is for sure, I will continue to be the prosecutor of the Republic of Albania, even after the end of the 9-year mandate, of course, if God takes our lives," said Dumani.

He explained that he has asked the Assembly several times to consider the possibility of reviewing the mandate of special prosecutors, but added that it has often been implied that he has done so for personal interests.

"I reiterate: if politics conditions it or there is an opinion that the extension of the mandate is related to my name, then I will not run again ," the SPAK leader further said.
