A joint operation between the Ioannina Narcotics Department and the Konica Police has led to the seizure of a significant amount of drugs on the Albanian-Greek border.

According to Greek authorities, in the early hours of the morning, a total of 193 kilograms and 212 grams of marijuana were seized, divided into 125 packages, hidden in a vehicle with foreign license plates.

The driver of the vehicle, realizing the presence of the police, attempted to evade control by making a sudden turn and increasing speed. During the pursuit, he lost control of the car, which swerved and stopped.

The driver then ran away, taking advantage of the darkness and the wooded terrain of the area, managing to temporarily escape capture.

The vehicle was seized by the authorities, while investigations into the identity of the driver are ongoing by the Narcotics Department and the Epirus Regional Police Directorate.
