An employee of the Guard of the Republic has been arrested for carrying weapons without a permit.

"He was detained in the late hours of last evening, as a suspect for the criminal offense of "Unauthorized production and possession of combat weapons and ammunition", AMP announced this Wednesday.

The guard's arrest came after a police search of his vehicle. A pistol that he had without a permit was found there. Also, during the search, two telephones were found and seized.

"The investigations are continuing and the procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana", announced AMP.

After this news, the General Director of the Guard of the Republic signed the dismissal of the 32-year-old from the ranks of the Guard.
