The Ioannina Court has rejected the Albanian state's request for the extradition of Lert Haxhiu to Albania.

The court of the neighboring country has put Hajji in prison and will be tried there only for the charge of leaving the scene of the accident and the disruption of public calm.

At the hearing, defense lawyer, Detar Hysi has asked for the refusal to extradite his klietnt, as in Albania he is endangered by his life. His request was accepted by the Ioannina court, revoking the request of albanian authorities.

Haxhiu is convicted by the Lushnja court of attempted murder to 18 years in prison, while he is in court proceedings in the special court for the Massacre of TheSsaly with two victims and 1 injured.
