The Court of Appeal has reduced the sentence to 5 years for former police officer Ludjan Zaimi, who killed his colleague Çaush Saliasi inside Tirana Police Station No. 3.
Specifically, Zaimi was sentenced by the Appeal to 30 years in prison, at a time when the Court of First Instance had sentenced him to 35 years for premeditated murder.
The prosecution accuses Zaim of the criminal offense of "intentionally killing an employee of the State Police, during or because of his duty".
During the investigation, the Prosecution came to the conclusion that Ludjan Zaimi did not and does not suffer from mental health problems and was able to control his actions, despite the fact that the defense has claimed that he has mental health problems.
Ludjan Zaimi claimed that his colleague Çaush Saliasi insulted and bullied him all the time. He claimed that they had constant arguments with Salias about the way he treated him.
