The Special Court sentenced Redjan Rraja to life imprisonment on the charge that he was one of the executors of the assassination attempt against the prosecutor Arjan Ndoja, where his driver Andi Maloku was killed and Landi Muharremi was injured. Meanwhile, the GJKKO also sentenced Arjol Halilajn to 35 years in prison, who, according to SPAK, had the role of helping to remove the perpetrators from the scene. Likewise, SPAK had demanded the same punishment for Rraja and Halilaj.
Rraja will serve his sentence in a high-security prison, while he is charged with "Theft", "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Murder of public officials", "Murder in other qualifying circumstances", "Structured criminal group".
In the session of May 31, 2023, SPAK listed the evidence collected at the scene, but also those obtained from the disassembly of Redjan Rraja's two phones. According to the accusation, DNA found on a pair of "Emporio Armani" glasses with his initials, found in the perpetrators' car, but also biological elements on clothes, a hat and a pair of black gloves, implicates the grandson of the former deputy of the SP. For the prosecution, the analysis of two phones and the transcription of communications with the SKY ECC platform are other evidences implicating the accused in the assassination attempt that took place at the Shkozet Bridge on the Tirana-Durres highway. From the transcription of the communications between the members of the group, terms such as "bin", "gasoline", "highway", "Arjani", etc., corresponding to the actions, have been identified.
The attack on Arjan Ndoja
The serious incident took place on November 1, 2019. Prosecutor Ndoja was in a vehicle with a person with a criminal record, known as the "strong man of Sukthi", Landi Muharremi from Sukthi, and with Andi Maloku, a former police employee at the Kruja police station, the prosecutor's driver, who remained dead. The 'Benz' car with license plate AA 333 ZD (which turned out to be owned by Fadil Çallik) and used by Prosecutor Ndoja, was assassinated near the overpass of Shkozeti when they were shot at with automatic volleys from another vehicle. After the barrage of eight bullets, the car left the road, while the injured were transported by private car. The prosecutor's driver, Andi Maloku, 30 years old, died in the hospital. He was shot in the chest and could not survive his injuries.
