The head of the Socialist Party Parliamentary Group, Taulant Balla, has stated that the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama is not an option, despite the students' demands.
At the end of the socialist group meeting, Balla expressed his openness to dialogue with the students, but categorically ruled out the resignation of the head of government.
Balla also ruled out the possibility of early elections, saying that Albanian students should take an example from those Serbs whose protest was concretized with a vote.
Balla: There is a principle, you cannot choose your opponent. I am telling you, Edi Rama was elected on May 11, 2025 as Prime Minister of Albania and has the support of the deputies of the parliamentary group and the 862 thousand voters who supported the PS to continue this mandate and there is no resignation. Dialogue without a doubt, except for the violence section of the DP, which to Berisha's shame also violated the posters of the martyrs of January 21. Dialogue yes, if they want to bring the list of issues, let them bring them. The Prime Minister insists on dialogue every day.
