The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha , has announced the publication of photographs of police officers who, according to him, have used violence against students during protests against the government of Prime Minister Edi Rama.
In a statement to the media, the democratic leader stated that the opposition will make public, one by one, the photographs of the police officers he accuses of violence against protesters.
The statement comes at a time when students have been protesting for two weeks, demanding the resignation of the prime minister.
Berisha also issued strong accusations against the Constitutional Court and SPAK, claiming that these institutions act in defense of the interests of the majority. He also commented on the latest government package, linking it to the concentration of power and the growth of autocracy in the country.
Berisha: As you have seen, the Constitutional Court is the notary of the godfather, of the government. Based on another principle, we will send the case to the Constitutional Court. As we have done with SPAK. All the files, confirmed by international election observation institutions, they close because they are against their party. After the package, there were analysts who stated that with this package they established a dictatorship. I tell them that anyone who has the elementary ABC of a state's politics and is familiar with this 2021 graph will see something interesting, that autocracy has increased. We will publish the photos one by one of those officers who raped students.
