The Supreme Court has left in force the security measure 'prison arrest' for Fredi Beleri, the mayor elected for the municipality of Himara, but not sworn.
The decision was given today in the counseling room by judge Sander Simoni.
Beleri, who is accused of buying and selling votes, asked for a milder security measure than that of arrest. Earlier, the Special Courts, the Court of First Instance and the Court of Appeal dismissed the requests of the mayor elected on May 14 while he was being held in custody.
Fredi Beleri was arrested two days before the May 14 local elections, under suspicions that he had offered money for votes in his favor.
The investigations started after the alerts received by the police and the denunciation of a citizen from Himara to the Prosecutor's Office of Vlora.
