Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj commented this evening on the SPAK investigations against Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku.
In a telephone interview on the show "Çim Peka Live", he said that the current investigation is not related to major corruption issues such as the Llogara tunnel or energy projects, but to a small supervision tender, describing this as a 'funny game' with justice.
Ahmetaj also stressed that there are internal tensions within SPAK and that some investigations, such as the one into Balluk's diploma, have not been pursued. He argues that investigations seem to be focusing on smaller issues, while projects worth millions remain untouched.
Meanwhile, according to him, Rama is not preventing SPAK from conducting investigations against Balluk, but they are being conducted selectively and with questionable political goals.
"First and foremost, there is still a fight within SPAK about Belinda Balluku. Do you know what Dumani investigated the current deputy prime minister for? Dumani investigated her for her diploma. While the carnage was going on here, he investigated her for her diploma.
Do you know what they're calling it for now? For a supervision tender. It's a mockery of justice and corruption. I mean, 15 schools were swallowed up in one go by the Llogara tunnel.
"In Thumanë-Kashar, it has become a name. Albanians will pay 1.3 billion. In the "tigers", a great miracle that practically even in Congo the son of the dictator president once would not dare to do, but they have done it," said Ahmetaj.
"Edi Rama is not stopping Altin Dumani from investigating (Balluk). Altin Dumani does not want to because he has not received an order. We have an expression from the south in the case of the deputy prime minister; that thing has become a scumbag, meaning it stinks. How can we save her? Save her because if we investigate her for the tunnel, it stinks. If we investigate her for the "tigers", for energy, for Thumanë-Kashar, it stinks. So what are we going to do? Well, we will tell the Albanians that we are investigating, so that we can tell them that no one is untouchable.
We have imprisoned a former deputy prime minister and are investigating another deputy prime minister. And we are taking him to SPAK for the 2 million supervision tender, not for the 190 million, not for the "tigers", not for the Tirana incinerator that was not monitored, not for Thumanë-Kashari. This is a ridiculous game, whoever eats it, eats it", said Ahmetaj.
