In addition to the former socialist mayor of Vora, Agim Kajmaku, it is learned that his nephew was arrested for seizing 20 kg of cocaine in the area of San Benedetto del Tronto in Italy. Uncle and nephew, one resident in Italy and the other in Albania are accused of drug trafficking.
Italian media report that a total of 4 people have been arrested, two others employed by Kajmaku and his nephew. The drugs were hidden inside several flower vases bought by Kajmaku, a longtime client of a well-known nursery in Grottamare.
Uncle and nephew had bought the small plants in the nursery and then decided to make the change and place them in larger pots, which they had bought at a local business.
This strange move was noticed by the owner of the nursery, who immediately notified the carabinieri, who organized the operation and handcuffed Agim Kajmku, his nephew and two other people.
According to local media, the cocaine seized if it was put on the market was worth about 1 million euros. The carabinieri searched their homes in Ascoli but found no trace of drugs.
It is worth mentioning the fact that Agim Kajmaku, before becoming the mayor of Vora, was engaged in the business of seedlings, seeds and fertilizers, with his firm that dealt with "production, sale, story of a small number of seeds, seedlings, fruit and decorative trees , etc., cultivation of green areas, parks, urban decorations… ”.
Agim Kajmaku lost his mandate a few months after he was elected mayor in 2019, due to the decriminalization law.
