"Golden Ball", why Messi not and Ronaldo yes? "France

The absence of Lionel Messi in the list of 30 finalists for the Ballon d'Or will make noise for at least two more months until the trophy is handed over.

The 7-time winner of the most prestigious award on an individual level sees himself outside and the decision was made by the magazine "France Football", the organizer of the award.

But why Ronaldo and Messi not? The magazine tries to explain the decision by justifying it with the change of rules and the very poor performance of the Argentine in the first season with the PSG shirt.

Why Ronaldo? Because he became the top scorer of all time at the national level and scored 6 goals in the Champions League while ending the season with 32 goals in 49 games. Score more than enough to make the shortlist.
