Prime Minister Edi Rama was present at the presentation of the book "The Great Clash", by the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, Enver Hoxhaj, while he also commented on the situation created in the region after the start of the war in Ukraine.
Rama said that every effort should be made to keep the region of the Western Balkans away from any possibility of conflict. Rama also explained the situation in which Serbia is in this time of war, according to him, found between two fires: between the pressure of Russia on which it depends in many respects and between the pressure of the West.
He stressed that Kosovo does not need to go to war once again, only if, he added, it will be forced to do so.
If something like this happens, then Albania will be obliged to follow that direction, said Rama, adding "that we are one".
"We are too young to ask the United States to reflect," he said. But they must reflect. The president should get acquainted with this issue and lead it.
That it is not impossible that this whole community of countries has fallen into this trap set by Russia. Even if this is not the case, the way it is built practically serves Russia. Neither democracy nor war victims…
It is good to keep the war away from this area. War is loved by those who have not tried it. I go to those who have not tried it and I do not want to try it.
In addition to the war in Ukraine, Russia wants to shift to the Balkans the second wave of clashes with the West, to destabilize the region and the EU.
Kemi We have no interest in Serbia being radicalized and we will do our best in this situation where Serbia is between two fires; Russia's great pressure, which is related to the possibility that the country has to force Serbia to supply it with a lot, and the great pressure of the West, which it feels a lot, to push in the direction of a correct understanding of what is needed to expect from Serbia.
Whoever expects to be thrown into the flames for the West does not understand what comes from this, there is no way they can do it because its people, 80 percent think Putin is right.
But it is clear that Serbia can stay far enough away from Russia that the flame of this war does not come here.
At this point we can do ours. This is the essence of my betrayal. Betrayal of which I have no regrets. I think we have suffered a lot…
"Kosovo from the war, destruction, we do not need to go in that direction anymore, but they are forcing it, and they are forcing Kosovo, they are forcing Albania as well, because we are one."
