During his speech at the General Assembly of the Council of Europe, Prime Minister Edi Rama answered the Greek MP's question about relations between Albania and Turkey.

For Prime Minister Rama, Turkey, like Greece or Italy, are strategic partners of Albania and he cannot choose between them, recalling the contribution of official Ankara in the refugee crisis of 2015.

"Turkey, like Greece and Italy, are the same and are defined as strategic partners in foreign policy. I do not understand the question. Greece has problems with Turkey and I hope you solve them. But when it comes to us we don't choose between partners. We have learned that neighbors are there to stay forever and my grandmother used to tell me that a happy neighbor is a happy home. We are not afraid of bad things from Turkey. It is very important for the stability of Europe. Without Turkey, the migrant crisis would have turned apocalyptic. I have the honor to know and consider myself a friend of Erdogan and Mitsotakis ," said Rama.
