The chairman of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has denounced in a press conference the leakage of a large number of data from the Memex system. Berisha, in his statement, announced that 105,000 names of Albanians who are suspected or under investigation by the police for various crimes have been published from the 30-year work file of the state police.
"Today, 105,000 names of suspected Albanians, investigated by the police for crimes of various types, have been published from the Memex system, which constitutes the 30-year work file of the State Police. The names have been exposed by the system in order to warn all those who are under observation, are under investigation, are under review for various criminal activities. This is an extremely dangerous moment for the country. A moment that proves that everything in this mafia state is in the hands of crime."
Likewise, the chief democrat stated, citing his sources, that since July 15, not a single measure has been taken to protect the systems. According to Berisha, the facts show that the Albanian systems were hacked not only by Iranians, but also by other "regional, European and governmental" hackers.
"I am clear that Iranian hackers attacked the e-Albania portal and I believe the published report. But I absolutely, the data proves that they are not alone. That Albania's digital systems were destroyed by regional, European, but also strictly governmental hackers.
Imagine for a moment, a process that started in 2017-2018, a process that continued with the delivery of the personal data of 1 million Albanians to the patronage, a process that continued with the publication of salaries and license plates. Is there anyone today, in a single judicial process for all this activity, which was literally governmental?
Is there a person detained, arrested, for all this collapse of the country's digital infrastructure? No man, because justice is a tool of the party-state and only carries out its orders."
