The Socialist Party will compete alone and not with allies in the upcoming local elections. The decision was announced by the chairman of the socialist parliamentary group, Taulant Balla.
"The Socialist Party of Albania competed alone in 2021 and 2019, as well as in 2017. So in this respect I believe we have clarified our opinion. We will continue to co-govern only with our only ally, which are the simple and ordinary people", said Balla.
In next year's elections, the SP wants to win the Shkodra Municipality for the first time.
"It is enough to look at the elections of March 6 that in Shkodër there was a certain part of the opposition that took office and I believe that the citizens of Shkodër understand that it was not the best choice. I believe that in May of next year when we have the elections, SP will aim for victory after many years in Shkodër municipality as well", said Balla.
When we are still 7 months away from the elections for the leaders of the 61 municipalities, the socialist majority still does not have an official position on the territorial map of the country.
