Sunday ends the wait for the two parties in the Democratic Party to sit down at the negotiating table to come up with a common candidate in the local elections.
After the return of the negotiator of Berisha's group, Edi Palokë, from the 145th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, held in Rwanda, he and Gazment Bardhi, mandated by the other group in DP, will sit down to find the way of cooperation for the 2023 premises.
Publicly, both sides have expressed their willingness to sit down without conditions immediately after Paloka's return this Sunday.
"They are in contact with each other and the process will continue," said Berisha.
"I will be in contact with Mr. Paloka to investigate the possibility of the Democrats having a candidate in the local elections," said Bardhi.
However, in parallel with the attempts to avoid the March 6 scenario, the two camps within the PD are also working on plan B, that of going out with their candidates.
Sali Berisha has publicly declared his path. The meetings have already started and the primaries in the main cities will start soon, without waiting endlessly for the outcome of the Paloka-Bardhi negotiations.
The other group, the main conductor of the meetings, has Lulzim Basha, although the latter gave up the leadership of the party in March. Report Tv has learned about several meetings that the former chief democrat held in DP branches for the upcoming local elections. The most important were those with the former DP leaders in the branches of the northern and southern cities, 2 weeks ago, where Basha was confronted by his own people with the attitude that he should not think about returning to the head of the Democrats.
