"An army of nationalist turbo-folk trolls attacked me" - Rama reacts

Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to criticism of his statements on Serbia and Kosovo, describing his opponents in Pristina as "an army of turbo-folk nationalist trolls."

In a post on social media, the head of the Albanian government writes that he considers their reactions to his positions on Serbia as an indication that he is successfully fulfilling his duty towards Albania, Kosovo, and regional peace and cooperation.

"Yesterday, the laboratory functioned perfectly, with trolls unleashed to reconfirm me as a traitor because I said that Serbia lost Kosovo, during my intervention in the dignified debate of recent days between our authorities and those of Serbia, on the inviolability of the Ibar River.

So, my stance was correct, because throughout that exhaustive intervention, which was welcomed even by British MP Alicia Kearns herself, an ardent flag-bearer for Kosovo in the United Kingdom, the nationalist turbo-folk base in Pristina found itself clinging to a single sentence to prevent that clear stance against Serbia's provocation from "confusing" turbo-folk fans.

"That Serbia lost Kosovo is simply a fact, as burning for the nationalist turbo-folk in Belgrade as it is painful for the nationalist turbo-folk in Pristina, and theirs. Yesterday's reorganization in their pathetic opposition to me is simply another compliment to Albania's diplomacy, to Balkan Europe," Rama writes.
