The candidate for the leader of the Democratic Party, Ibsen Elezi has requested the postponement of the elections in the Democratic Party, three days before their holding. Through a statement from the blue headquarters, Elezi said that the election process is being conducted in violation of the PD statute and that there are problems with membership lists.
Elezi requested that the elections for the chairman of the Democratic Party be postponed until the moment when there are accurate membership lists, as well as the establishment of the Appeals Commission.
"I decided to run for the position of DPA chairman. After my registration as a candidate I am finding a series of statutory and legal violations.
None of the primary and debate elements are being implemented in this process. There were also serious defects with the lists, this was also confirmed by the electoral commission. The election process is being conducted in violation of the DP statute.
It has been ascertained by me that the Appeals Commission has not been set up. This commission is the only body that guarantees the smooth running of the process according to statutory norms. Regarding the above, given that the Re-establishment Commission has promised democratization several times and fair competition, I request the repair of the membership lists before this electoral process continues, and the postponement of the electoral process until these minimum statutory requirements are met. " , said Elezi.
