The President of the European Council, Charles Michel, has clearly underlined today in Tirana that Albania deserves to open talks with the European Union as soon as possible.

" A lot has changed, the COVID crisis and the war in Ukraine but one thing has not changed and will not change and this is our full commitment to Albania's integration into the EU. This is the key moment to meet you, a true ally.

We continue to maintain and increase pressure on Russia, and I want to thank you for your work in the global arena, especially in the Security Council. We are working to provide tangible results for all Albanians.

We will have a meeting of 27 European Union leaders. "Albania has met all the conditions and the opening for membership should continue as soon as possible" , said Michel.
