The head of the PD parliamentary group Enkelejd Alibeaj claims that the majority has violated the agreement on the negotiations for the new President and according to him, this happened after the Prime Minister Edi Rama got acquainted with the candidacies proposed by the PD.

Speaking to the media, after the cancellation of the meeting with the PD deputies, Alibeaj said that the withdrawal of the majority shows that he does not want a consensual President, adding that the position of the other party has already been shown.

"You are a witness that we drafted a document and a procedure. You have the document and you have been witnesses. Yesterday we had a meeting of the Parliamentary Group that was to continue today. But it happened that today there was a withdrawal in the media by the SP, so the process would be such we would identify four candidacies. The last step would also provide the guarantee for this process. I repeat that candidacy that would be identified as consensual would be not only a guarantee, but a strong sign that there would be no games or avoidance, but the SP claims that this candidacy should have only our signatures. So this is a pull and we have known that the SP has no real legitimacy.
