Former MP, Nikoll Lesi has stated that the opposition should come up with only one or two candidacies for President, because according to him, if there is a high number of candidacies, he returns to the market, where he gives the opportunity for "fishing" to Prime Minister Edi Rama. 

He suggested to the opposition the two names to be proposed as candidates for President, that of the scholar Aurel Plasari and of the politician Majlinda Bregu.

"The opposition must come up with one or two candidates for President of the Republic. They do not have to mess around with many names, as it turns into a market or soup where the prime minister then fishes. It is imperative that the opposition be serious and forget about divisions or grudges against each other. If it offers potential candidates with public and political integrity, the opposition does a service to Albania, but also to itself.

If I were a member of the Assembly, of course, as always a member of parliament challenging governments, I would sign without any hesitation for one of the two candidates: Aurel Plasari, a great and bright figure of Albanian culture or Majlinda Bregu, a charismatic, correct politician and with integrity, even now an active part of the structures of the European Union. But without prolonging it, he can add that there are other names that can be selected, but the votes of the SP are also needed, so unifying names must be found to be voted by the SP. "So the opposition sends two candidates to give the majority the opportunity to choose between the two names" - said the former MP Lesi for "folshqip"
