Lulzim Basha seems to have taken seriously the return to the head of the Democratic Party, even though for more than 8 years at its head, he could not bring it to power.
He is holding meetings with groups of democrats and this Saturday afternoon he appeared in Shkodër, a bastion of the right that in 32 years of democracy they lost for the first time on May 14.
During his speech, Basha said that he believes that better days will come, but we must work for them.
"Shkodra has never bowed down to the arrogance of power. Dictatorship and not before the arrogance of the powers as a whole. This makes the pain even greater. I am convinced of you, together with you, the citizens of Shkodra, those who are not residents, but see Shkodra as a benchmark. When I was told about this opportunity to talk with you, I had a deep reflection, considering this circumstance, but in Shkodër I also felt that I have a subjective, this injury is greater.
I had a moment when you said how is it done, I will come to Shkodër after May 14. Even when you are hurt, even when something hurts, there is no other way but to face the hurt with the cause of the hurt. After that I didn't have any dilemma and I thought it's been a long time, a little more than a year since I was in such a meeting in Shkodër and the second one, without a doubt I believe that better days will come, but there is no reason to wait for better days, but to work for better days," declared Basha.
He further added that Basha said that the first thing that must be ascertained is that the youth should be encouraged to participate in the voting but also in the political process and go out in protests.
"With your silence, a message has resounded that you have rejected this kind of politics. Without you getting angry and without speaking loudly, without coming out with banners to say no to evil and to confront it , to fill the streets and squares, Albania will continue to languish.
I have faith and hope that this is just the beginning of a youthful reaction. What do those who came here to ask for the vote know about your wants, dreams and needs? Nothing! Because they are old. It's been a while since they only deal with themselves and each other. I have a plan to deal with this politically.
That from a human point of view I said. But from a political point of view, the first thing we need to establish is that the youth are bored and do not participate in the elections. The youth must participate in the political process," said Basha.
