The deep defeat in the May 14 elections, especially in the Municipality of Shkodra, has also led to the resignation from the ranks of 'Reestablishment' in the capital of the north.

The deputy chairman of Berisha's 'Foltor' branch in Shkodër, Arben Lushaj, has resigned. In a Facebook post he says that those who should be apologizing for the wrong strategy and defeat are pointing fingers.

Dear democrats! On May 14, the voters denied us the continuity of running our beloved municipality. I, personally, did not read their vote as a desire for change but as an unconditional surrender to the government machinery. Each reason in itself would constitute a cause for endurance, if we had a model without blemish, but our model failed because it did not respond to the height of this city and this municipality.

I waited in vain that we would meet as senior leaders of the Democratic Party of Shkodër to examine the causes of this loss and to take urgent measures to rebuild the structures morally, since the loss should not crush us. Like the entire year we left behind today, those who are tasked with apologizing, at least for the wrong strategy, point the finger in the direction of those who carried out the wrong orders of the "elite".

Resigning as deputy chairman of the DP, not for personal responsibility as I was not asked nor heard, neither for the position I won with a strong competition, nor for the experience gained in previous campaigns, I do the civic act by sending message to those in charge, to be honest at least now, by resigning and withdrawing so as not to deepen the damage to the Democrats.

My resignation comes through Facebook as we neither tried to enter our house (headquarters) nor seriously thought of having dignified headquarters for meetings but friends' cafes.

With sadness, I see today the only possibility of revival, opening the way to completely better models. Models like in our beginnings, when they made the Democratic Party of Albania, Shkodër branch, an unstoppable electoral locomotive and leader of the best municipality in the country for 30 years. I will continue to be a simple and pious member of the DP and by the side of the honest democrats until our victory ", writes Lushaj.
