The vice president of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku, has spoken about the internal political situation in the Democratic Party, the reappearance of the former leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha or even the steps after Berisha if he has to do them.

In an interview on the show "This Week", Tabaku said that if the Democratic Party continues with the same situation, the opposition will lose a lot of time and this would damage it extremely.

"I think that Mr. Bardhi has a heavy weight for the union. I hope that the caucus will begin to unite for the battle against the opponent. And I think this is the biggest challenge", said Tabaku, among other things.

The democratic MP said that she is consulting with all parties on the proposal to take the post of party chairperson, as a solution is needed that expands the PD and not reduces it. Tabaku said that by the end of next week, she will communicate her decision on this issue.

Asked if he should take steps after Berisha, Tabaku stated that DP should reflect on the May 14 elections, which show that things have not gone well for over 1 and a half years.

The reappearance of Basha?

Jorida Tabaku:  The discussion is only good for DP. I emphasize that we must deal with people's concerns, about corruption, about the departure of young people. We must solve our problems first. I believe that the opposition is in a difficult situation and we must be as united as possible.

Should Berisha take a step back?

Jorida Tabaku:  I believe that the results should be an indicator that DP should reflect and definitely change. So things have not gone well for a year and a half, and that must change.

After the resignation of Alibeaj, Bardhi asked you to be the chairman of the DP. You have not expressed yourself. Will you accept it?

Jorida Tabaku: Në PD i kam fituar gjërat, kam ecur ngadalë në karrierë, nuk kam bërë lëvizje stratosferike, po përpiqem të dëgjoj të gjitha palët. Nuk ka rëndësi pozicioni i askujt prej nesh, duhet një zgjidhje që e zgjeron PD, jo që e zvogëlon. Kemi pasur një mbledhje javën e kaluar me grupin dhe jemi ndarë shqetësimet kush është më e mira për PD. Kemi provuar shumë gjëra që nuk kanë funksionuar, mbase nuk duhet të nxitohemi të fusim partinë nga një betejë në tjetrën. Në fund të javës tjetër mbase do të kemi një vendim të konsultuar. Jemi duke u konsultuar, mund  të kemi në fund të javës tjetër zyrtarizim të qëndrimit zyrtar në lidhje me këtë çështje.

Si i përgjigjeni atyre që ju kërkojnë ju në krye të partisë?

Jorida Tabaku:  We need to move from the approach of the individual and we need a broader decision-making. If we rush now, we miss the opportunity to unite grassroots Democrats, which is what I mean when I say the party needs to unite.

Alibeaj's resignation. How did you see it?

Jorida Tabaku:  I didn't expect it. I have appreciated that it has carried a heavy weight and has been the victim of unfair attacks.
