The head of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, declared that the primaries are already the passport to the opening and fundamental change of the DP.
"They have created a very positive impact on our members and sympathizers, but in general on all Albanians who believe in free vote and respect for the individual. Albanians have a vital need for the change of the DP, as the party of hope, faith and the future. Of course, change is realized only with actions, with concrete steps," said Berisha.
He discussed the ongoing approval of the candidacies for primaries in the remaining municipalities and the opposition action as a whole.
The chief democrat said that there are over 200 candidacies that come from DP, civil society, the academic world, but also from the diaspora and emigration.
Berisha emphasized that the primaries scared Prime Minister Rama.
He guaranteed that the process will be fair, honest and will be carried out with integrity. Since these are the first primaries, Berisha said that they will do their best to finalize everything successfully.
"Everywhere our candidates in the primaries are appearing not like those of the other wing, who live as if they were in the caves or basements of the mafia, where I don't know who they are and what they do, but ours are in front of sympathizers, they are in the media and they are everywhere," Berisha said.
"They have really managed to do this process, a process that has aroused special interest in the public. A process that is being appreciated across the political spectrum and a process that has actually deeply shocked Edi Rama and his mafia group, that instead of the rules of democracy, has defined the rules of the mafia boss in his party, where he decides everything himself , where neither forums nor free vote exist", said Berisha.
