The head of the Parliamentary Group of the Socialist Party, Taulant Balla, spoke after today's meeting of the Conference of Chairmen, saying that no opposition letter, signed by the head of the DP, Sali Berisha, will be considered by the majority.

He said in a communication with journalists that they will change the law on Investigative Commissions, as well as invited representatives of Civil Society to run for Ombudsman. According to him, the Socialist Party left the right space for the opposition to elect the People's Advocate, but according to him, it did not take advantage of it.

Balla:  It is the Signature, the signature of a person declared non grata by the US. That request, that letter is not taken into account, so in the formal aspect the request cannot be examined as long as the signature of this person is found. In December of this year, the constitutional law gave the majority the right to an investigative commission. The demands of the opposition are unlimited in their right to propose them, but this does not mean that we do not have the right to examine them.

The Assembly should urgently address all the decisions of the Constitution in the last 20 years. The law speaks of examination by the Bureau of the Assembly. We will have the opportunity to change the law on investigative commissions, to have a commission to address the changes.

The Assembly must respect the decisions of the Constitutional Court. I think that urgently we will have the opportunity to change the law on Investigative Commissions. The Assembly is the first institution that respects the decisions of the GJK.

As soon as the session starts on the 16th, there will be a communication on legal issues, this will be an open process and as soon as possible we will give Albania the People's Advocate and not the DP. The opposition had all the time needed to give the people the Advocate, but they did not use it. There is a tradition that the opposition proposes the lawyer.
