Matilda is one of the icons of Albanian cinematography and theater, as she has been away from the public eye for about 40 years now.

The much-loved Albanian actress celebrated her 61st birthday yesterday. Matilda was born in Tirana, on April 19, 1963. She graduated from the High Institute of Arts in 1985, majoring in acting, and immediately after completing her studies, she was appointed to work as an actress at the National Theatre.

The actress confessed a while ago that the reason for her departure from the stage was to dedicate herself totally to her son Greg, who came from the marriage with the current prime minister of Albania, Mr. Edi Rama at the end of the 80s.

Matilda Makoçi's path to acting was short, but with deep traces in cinema and theater. For as many roles as she played, the young actress of the 80s and 90s immediately created a special profile on the Albanian film screen.
