A serious accident occurred today on the Fier-Lushnje road . 

It is reported that the incident occurred near the Kolonja roundabout, where an SUV left the road, crashed into the metal barriers and overturned them, ending up in a canal about five meters below the bridge. 

As a result, the two spouses were injured and their removal from the vehicle required the immediate intervention of the Lushnja fire department and ambulance medical personnel.

The two injured were urgently transported to Lushnja Hospital, where they are receiving medical attention for the numerous injuries they suffered. 

According to preliminary data from the Traffic Police, it is suspected that high speed and high humidity on the asphalt, as a result of intense rainfall, caused the driver of the vehicle to lose control and fail to enter the roundabout. 

Police are continuing their investigations, while an expert report is awaited to determine the full causes of the accident.
