American police give the details: The attack in Chicago was planned for several
The author of the massacre, Robert Crimo

The American police stated today that the suspect for the serious incident during the 4th of July parade in Chicago, where six people were killed, had been planning the attack for several weeks.

American authorities say that 21-year-old Robert Crimo legally bought the weapon he used yesterday, BBC writes.

According to officials, he dressed in women's clothing to avoid being noticed and to escape the crowd that was running in fear after the gunshots.

Crimo is then believed to have gone to his mother's house, where he later left in her vehicle.

Police arrested the suspect while driving, where a second weapon, similar to the one used in the attack, was found.

The attack in Chicago's Highland Park happened just a few months after the events recorded at the Uvalde school in Texas or even in New York.

President Biden has pledged to fight the "epidemic of gun violence" that has swept the country.
