Build your house by finding a treasure. Not a hoard of gold coins, but a hoard of bones, which may not make the homeowner rich, but will put him in the history books.

All this happened to a young man from Portugal who, during excavations for the construction of his house, in 2017, noticed various fossils coming to light.

When these fossils, fragments of a forgotten history with the continuation of the excavations, took on bigger and bigger shapes and dimensions, he suspended the work by contacting the authorities.

From that moment, the site with workers was replaced by archaeologists from the University of Lisbon, who have been working on that sieve for years, possibly rewarded with one of the most sensational discoveries of recent years.

It is about the massive skeleton of a giant dinosaur, a sauropod, gentle vegetarian animal, whose large dimensions made it almost invincible even by the many predators of the era in which it lived, somewhere between 160 and 100 million years ago.

The skeleton, found in a very special position that has enabled excellent conservation, according to archaeologists may be the largest ever found in Europe, and among the largest of all time.

The bones belong to a being about 24 meters long and 13 meters high, but other surprises can be found in the plot of land that was intended for an anonymous dwelling, and which has now been transformed into an open-air museum.
