The U.S. Department of Justice has published documents and indices on the basis of which a Florida federal judge granted authorization to search Donald Tump's mar a Lago residence.
Their publication was made after the order given by the court itself, as for days, the Department resisted media pressure by stating that publishing them could harm investigations.
The AUGUST 8 FBI raid was part of an investigation into possible misuse of documents that were sent to the former President's home. The statement includes evidence gathered by prosecutors and can reveal new details about the investigation.
But, many parts of them have been deleted and edited, as the US Department of Justice said details in it could compromise the ongoing investigation.
The department cites the need to protect the safety of civilian witnesses and law enforcement personnel.
Some news organizations had called for the statement not to be sealed, citing public interest given the historical nature of the raid of a former president's home.
U.S. presidents are required to transfer documents and emails to the National Archive when they leave office. Donald Trump has denied violating any law.
