United States Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar has called in Belgrade for Serbia and Kosovo to commit to refraining from violence.
Escobar visited Belgrade with the European Union's special representative for the dialogue, Miroslav Lajcak, after they previously stayed in Kosovo.
At the press conference, the U.S. diplomat made public the U.S. proposal for resolving documentdisputes.
"I hope that after September 1st, Kosovo Serbs will not be visitors to their homes and be recognized as legitimate citizens with dual citizenship, even Serb and Kosovar," Escobar said.
Escobar stated that this would guarantee the protection of their rights, both from Serbia and Kosovo. Also, for the Community of Serbian Municipalities, the American diplomat said Pristina should come up with a proposal of its own, since the Proposal of Serbs contradicts the country's Constitution.
