European Union Foreign Policy Chief Josep Borell said Serbia and Kosovo reached an agreement on the movement of citizens of both countries.
"We have a deal. Serbia agreed to abolish entry-release documents for kosovo identification documents, and Kosovo agreed not to implement them for citizens from Serbia," Mr Borell wrote, citing a European solution.
He commended the leaders of Kosovo and Serbia for the agreement, which followed a period of tensions between the parties following the Kosovo government's decision to implement reciprocity measures for the use of identification documents and car plates.
The European Union's envoy for the Kosovo-Serbia talks, Miroslav Lajcak, thanked "american envoy for the Western Balkans, Gabriel Escobar, and American diplomacy for their powerful dedication to supporting EU-mediated dialogue".
