Following the commotion of the "Sunny Hill" festival from Prishtina to Tirana, the holding of the "Beerfest Kosova" festival in the capital of Kosovo has been canceled.
This festival was scheduled to be held on June 24 to 26, but the organizers announce that they have been forced to cancel it because it will not be allowed to be held in the place where it has always been (parking lot, behind the Youth Palace in Pristina).
According to the Kosovo Police, this place does not meet the conditions for this organization.
The organizers accuse the authorities that they have not yet received a response and that they have sent a request since the beginning of March. They suggest that they are looking for a new place to organize this festival.
"Our official requests for permits and relevant consents for holding this festival in the mentioned location, were made in early March. Until the joint meeting we had, we had no response, despite our insistence, thus holding us hostage for the location.
For us as organizers this is a very harmful, late and unreasonable decision.
In the same location we have held the last 4 editions and we think that as a location it is suitable for this festival and similar activities.
In any case, we are too late for any other solution, so we are obliged to cancel the holding of the festival on these dates, at the planned location.
Beerfest Kosova and MODUS, as the festival organizer is now looking for a new suitable location and setting new dates.
"We will keep you informed of any developments we will have in this regard," reads the announcement of the organizers.
