WAR/ A cargo ship is hit by a missile in the Strait of Hormuz

A cargo ship was hit by a shell in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire and forcing the crew to evacuate, the United Kingdom Merchant Marine Operations Agency (UKMTO) said.

"A cargo ship has been reported to have been hit by an unknown projectile in the Strait of Hormuz, causing a fire on board.

The cargo ship, which was 11 nautical miles north of Oman, "has requested assistance and the crew is in the process of evacuating the vessel," UKMTO said.
