The Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, has announced the withdrawal of police forces from municipalities with a Serbian majority in the North of the country.
According to the plan agreed with the senior European officials, the presence of the Kosovo Police will be reduced by 25% from the northern institutions.
Through an announcement on Twitter, Kurti says that the way is now being opened for holding early elections in the four municipalities with a Serbian majority.
"Since last week, we have reduced the presence of the Kosovo Police by 25% in the 3 buildings of the northern municipality. Now we are starting to pave the way for early elections. Kosovo is already implementing in good faith the agreement with the EU/EUSR for the de-escalation reached in Bratislava", informs Kurti.
