A priest in Rhodes, Greece, was reported by a 30-year-old Estonian tourist who allegedly asked him to undress and then smeared his body and genitals with oil.
During the statement to the police, the 49-year-old priest said that he applied the oil to help him as he had eczema on his thighs and did not make any inappropriate movements on the tourist's genitals. The priest is expected to appear in court on September 11.
First, the priest said that the 30-year-old visited the Monastery with his girlfriend and during the conversation they had, she expressed her desire to become godfather and that the conversation was about faith and Orthodoxy.
According to the priest's claims, he took the Estonian tourist to the sanctuary where he anointed his forehead, hands, back and chest with oil from the Virgin's candlestick. It was then, as the priest claimed, that he noticed that the 30-year-old had bright red marks on his body, which he suspected were eczema.
Afterwards and after taking a photo with the tourist, they exchanged phone numbers and greeted each other.
When the 30-year-old left, the 49-year-old priest noticed that he had forgotten the cross he had bought and therefore informed him to go get it.
Continuing the confession of the accused priest, when the Estonian went to the monastery again, he wanted to create a climate of trust so that the tourist could open up to him and receive proper treatment. He suggested that if he believed, he would paint his body where he had seen eczema.
The priest claims that after the 30-year-old accepted, he followed him into the living room, where the door was open and the window was open. There, the priest said, he began to anoint him with oil on the places where he had eczema, and there he noticed, as he claims, great eczema on his thighs as well. After asking her if she agreed to paint him, he removed her underwear and painted her body from head to toe, without performing any inappropriate actions in the genital area.
Finally, the vicar of the monastery told the police that they had organized another meeting with the tourist and did not know that he had reported it to the police. You had even bought him an eczema ointment, but failed to give it to him.
