Pep Guardiola has broken his silence following the independent commission's decision that found Manchester City guilty of serious financial misconduct, coming out publicly in support of the club where he spent a decade of his career.
The former Manchester City manager has not chosen to remain silent after the recent developments. Guardiola has reacted through a message to the club's fans, assuring them that he will continue to be by their side even during this difficult period.
"I want every Manchester City fan to know that I am here, more than ever. I have always been, am and will always be behind my club, my owner, my president, Ferran, the players, the staff, Enzo and you, our unique fans," Guardiola wrote.
Then, the Spaniard gave another clear message: "Let me be clear: we will get through this together. I love you all."
Guardiola's reaction comes just a day after the independent commission published its verdict on the 115-count case against Manchester City. The club was found guilty of financial irregularities between 2009 and 2018, while also being found guilty of most of the charges relating to failing to cooperate with the Premier League's investigation.
The commission found that City had used "fictitious" deals with several sponsors in what was described as a camouflaged funding scheme. The commission also concluded that several witnesses had given evidence they knew was false.
Manchester City have disputed the decision and have said they will appeal, insisting they have evidence to support their position. Final sanctions have yet to be determined.
Guardiola, who left Manchester City at the end of last season after a decade in charge, has been one of the club's strongest voices in defence of the issue for years.
Now, even after leaving the bench, he has chosen to publicly support City again, at a time when the club is facing the consequences of one of the biggest financial issues in Premier League history.
