In the speakership of the Assembly, the next act of comedy of the election of the new President took place, where the mayoralty pretended to face opposition and the opposition pretended to be participating in the process.
The truth is that in the entire 30-year history of electing presidents in Albania, the artificial political crisis has been at its peak. The first president was Berisha, who was re-elected in 1996 by the Assembly in that year's violent elections and when protests against his power and pyramid schemes were raging in most of the country. Berisha preceded the dismissal by resigning after the Socialists' victory in the 1997 elections.
The Socialists then elect moderate Rexhep Mejdani to the post, which gives way to Alfred Moisiu. Moses was the first and last consensual president. With the strength of the cards, the PD would choose Bamir Topi in 2007 and Bujar Iii in 2012, while the SP would join LSI votes to elect Ilir Meta in 2017.
So, with the exception of Alfred Moisiu all other presidents have been one-sided, initially in elections and then at times even in positions. The peak of unilaterality in attitudes probably reached Ilir Meta.
As long as Sali Berisha is still an actor in politics (a factor that hardly returns), even the process initiated by the SP for Meta's successor will hardly produce a consensual name. Rama says there are all possibilities for the new president to be consensual. But, consensual to whom? Fatmir Mediu?! With Enkelejd Alibeajn?!
The former received 6,568 personal votes in last year's April 25th election and the second received 5225. So if the 10,000-vote abolished time will be taken into account in the last parliamentary elections, Medium and Alibeaj, along with personal votes, make only one mandate. This means that if there is to be a consensus with the two chairmen of the two parliamentary groups in the Assembly, artificially he can give the SP over 80 terms, but actually gives only one.
This means that with the conjunctude and discussions that took place at the meeting of the conference of speakers, the SP will elect a consensual president with only one more opposition mandate, i.e. by 72+1 votes in the Assembly.
The rest, however shaken and politically shaken, is simply an attempt to give this process an inclusive perception, at a time since the popular vote it is not.
