The UN in Albania has begun the process of drafting the first Integrated National Financing Framework. The programme aims to inform national and international partners of its pillars and the liaison and harmonisation with documents and other national policy laws.
According to the UN, Albania faces challenges in meeting sustainable development goals under Agenda 2030, including here in assessing costs.
Working in partnership with the Government of Albania, the Programme aims to expand institutional capacities at the national and local level for developing feasible solutions and identifying fiscal space to progressively increase spending related to sustainable development goals in Albania and integrate these into the national budgetary framework.
One of the main components of the programme is the development of the first Integrated National Financing Framework for Albania. The INFF is a new planning and offering tool for financing sustainable development at the national level. The INFF serves to draw up the full range of funding resources - public and private, domestic and international - as well as the non-financial implementation tools available, thus setting out a funding strategy for resource growth, risk management and sustainable achievement.
The UN Sustainable Development Goals, set within the framework of Agenda 2030, are 17, among them the elimination of poverty, zero hunger, health and well-being, quality education, gender equality, affordable and clean energy and others.
