The head of the Special Prosecutor's Office for a few days, Arben Kraja, spoke in a television interview about the 'things' and 'deeds' he has done to corruption and organized crime in these three years.

The interview was one of the rare ones before the media of the head of SPAK, but it did not produce anything new. The novelty of the interview was Arben Kraja's attempt to sell failures as successes and connections with Ilir Meta as prejudices.

Kraja had Ilir Meta as his superior in 2001-2002, when at that time the head of the Freedom Party led Albania as Prime Minister and Arben Kraja the anti-corruption structure in this government.

What have been the achievements of Kraja at the head of this structure, the political accusations and evaluations of international reports that classify the 'Meta' government as one of the most corrupt show it best.

Two decades later, the world has turned and Ilir Meta no longer has Arben Kraja in hand, but Arben Kraja Ilir Meta with the files submitted to SPAK. But the sins of the past do not seem to let the head of SPAK move forward.

Asked in the interview given this Friday about Ilir Meta, or Ilir Metaj, Arben Kraja answered by repeating the usual refrain 'we are investigating, we are verifying', and others like this.

But what is there to investigate in a file where the evidence of Ilir Meta's lobbying in the US is clear and easily accessible on the official websites of the US authorities? Kraja knows this.

The other case is related to the investigations against Sali Berisha. Even about the files against the former Prime Minister, he said that 'we are investigating', forgetting the postulate made during the presentation of the candidacy, or the tables with internationals that one of the principles he would consider in this task would be to 'follow the money'.

If the money was followed and where it goes, or where it came out and how it came out, the files against Meta and Berisha would be at a different stage today. In the case of Berisha, is it enough to follow the money that was benefited from the privatization of the 'Partizani' complex? Who built it there? Who benefited? How and how much did it benefit?

Në rastin e Ilir Metës mjafton gjurmimi i të gjitha gjetjeve që kanë bërë mediat austriake dhe ato shqiptare mbi shifrat e lobimit në SHBA në 2016-n dhe të padeklaruara në Shqipëri. Mediat ngrenë dyshimet se paratë kanë dalë nga xhepat e Ilir Metës dhe janë të përfituara nga afera korruptive.

Për të dyja rastet, Arben Krajës i duhet t’i provojë ligjërisht dhe kjo bëhet duke marrë së pari në pyetje protagonistët e këtyre akuzave, pra Sali Berishën dhe Ilir Metajn. Por, kjo ende nuk ka ndodhur.

Në një tjetër standard, kjo jo vetëm që ka ndodhur, por të akuzuarit mbahen edhe në qeli mbi bazën e akuzave të ngritura, që të quhen të provuara duhet të ketë një vendim përfundimtar të gjykatës. Bëhet fjalë për ish-ministrin e Mjedisit, Lefter Koka dhe ish-deputetin socialist, Alqi Bllako.

Both of them were not even interrogated before being isolated in the cell, but it was acted on the basis of the media trial and public accusations, just like the popular trials at the time of the exile.
