In the middle of the political and public noise about the project of the Yacht Port in Durrës, the Saudi businessman, Mohamed el Alabar, has started the recruitment of his associates for the company in Albania.
In December 2021, the company "North East Real Estate", based in Dubai, bought for 100 thousand old lek the shares of "Symphony Real Estate Development", an off-shore company from the Cayman Islands, which it had acquired a little earlier status of strategic investor by Prime Minister Edi Rama for the construction of the Yacht Marina in Durrës.
After this transaction, the name of the strategic investor company is changed to "Eagle Hills Real Estate". In October 2022, the company registers Alabari as one of the beneficial owners, while also establishing a telephone number for contact with third parties.
The contact number belongs to the financier from Durrës, Elisabeta Hajrullai. The finance expert was one of the closest collaborators of the Albanian businessman, Samir Mane.
According to public records, Hajrullai has worked for at least 15 years in Manes' companies, where he held key roles in managing the money of the richest Albanian entrepreneur.
After a long-term collaboration, the financier decides to leave Mane to join Alabari's company.
Perhaps it is a professional choice of the financier. But, in a situation where the opposition, but not only, raise doubts that the interests of local businessmen are actually hidden behind the Alabar project, Hajrullai's move from Samir Mane to Saudi entrepreneurs does not seem so random.
From Samir to Alabari
In the official documents submitted to the National Business Center (NBC), the strategic investor company of the Port of Durrës has set the contact number 06xxxxx199.
"Boldnews.al" carried out further verifications at the business center and it turned out that the same number is registered to "Physical person" Elisabeta Hajrullai, with the object "Professional training for hotel tourism and training".
Aktiviteti i saj profesional lidhet tërësisht me kompanitë e Samir Manes.
So, at least so far, the opposition's suspicions about the unknown owners are valid. But even the suspicions about the involvement of Albanian oligarchs do not seem to be so baseless.
The fact that Samir Manes' long-time chief financier is now employed by Alabari of the Port of Durres, strengthens the conviction of skeptics that the project of the Yacht Marina in Durres hides the economic interests of those who are considered Albanian "oligarchs" ./ BoldNews
