Ilir Metaj

The composition of the Steering Committee of the Freedom Party is another proof that the new party of Ili Metaj has risen on the ruins of the Socialist Movement for Integration.

In the list of more than 200 names, hidden among young people and new names, new approaches and intellectuals, former socialist deputies, former leaders of important institutions of the country, but also former accused, convicted and accused currently for corruption.

Voxnews.al has identified some of these names. We are starting the list with Dashamir Xhika, the former head of the Albanian Road Authority, accused, arrested and tried for corruption and abuse of power with the Tirana-Elbasan Road, with a damage of 50 million euros to the state budget.

The other accused is the former mayor of Prerenjasi Municipality, Miranda Rira. Last year, a report was submitted to SPAK with suspicions about the abuse of tenders for the construction of a sports field at a cost of 820 million ALL.

Klodian Gradeci is the other name accused and tried for a 1.5 million dollar fraud scheme with oil wells while he was running the National Agency of Natural Resources.

The list continues with Moisi Musabelli, a name less known than the others. The latter was investigated on the charge of abuse of office during the time he headed the Directorate of Metrology in Tirana before 2013. From the prosecutor's investigation file, Musabelliu is part of several phone conversations to approve two fuel scales in Porto Romano. The prosecution suspected at the time that the approval was fictitious.

The other name is Nesim Spahiu, former mayor of Skrapar Municipality. According to BIRN, Spahiu does not justify at least 45 million lek from his wealth with legal sources.

The 'icing on the cake' of this whole list is Ilir Meta himself, the man with at least five open files and reports in the Special Prosecutor's Office.
